Holiday Lights Extravaganza! ... in Florida?
South Florida's warm temperatures and bikini-clad sunbathers make it the butt of holiday jokes -- like the one about Floridians decorating palm trees in their homes instead of Christmas trees? Coming from New York, I was surprised to find out that Floridians take their holiday decorating very seriously -- spending hundreds and thousands of dollars to turn their tropical homes into a light-studded, holiday wonderlands. Fishing: The Catch
On Monday, I mentioned that I had quickly learned that there is at least one common denominator when it comes to avid fishermen ... EVERYONE HAS A FISHING STORY. And when a gang of Anglers gets together ... each fish is bigger than the next. I also mentioned that now, I, too, have a fishing story ... and it's called Beginner's Luck! "Pulling Fish in Pompano Beach ... The Set-up!"
It all began randomly at a low-key diner in Hillsboro Beach, Florida--where the cash register has no LED display, the waitresses still wear sensible shoes and sport the look of the now cult-classic hair spray...FinalNet. My most-cherished friend Laura Kennedy and her husband, Steve kept needling me, many a Wednesday night: "Hey, Katie -- we gotta get you on the boat!" Artificial Intelligence guru David Levy points out that psychologists have identified about a dozen basic reasons why people fall in love and he argues that almost all of them could apply to human-robot relationships! But are we any good at it? For more on Mindsight watch the "WatercoolerDiaries" on KBTVonline today!
